This will be the third game that Quantic Dream has published since it decided to expand its business model back in 2019 after a deal with NetEase saw the company shift into multi-platform development and self-publishing. Parallel Studio plans to release Under The Waves on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5 at some point in 2023. Quantic Dream has pledged to finanically support the organization. Under The Waves hopes to shine a light on the importance of ocean preservation, and Parallel Studio has partnered with Surfrider Foundation Europe, a non-profit association responsible for the protection and enhancement of lakes, rivers, oceans, waves, and coastlines. While beneath the waves Stan experiences a strange series of events that forces him to face isolation and grief and ultimately decide if he wants to return to the surface world. Underwater exploration will take you to caves and wrecks, as well as showcase marine wildlife.
